The Portfolios
Off The Wall - 2015
Off The Wall is an exploration of color, light, and shadow on form in space with the intent to communicate the concept of human identity as an illusion that is society based, multi-layered, forever evolving, and capricious in nature.

The works reflect these characteristics by being modular in design, illusory in the painting application, and presented in three-dimensional space. Because it is three dimensional, the characteristics of the shadows were part of the compositional plan. The color seen in the shadows is a reflection of the color that is painted on the non-visible sides of the construction. As a viewer gazes at it in passing, the composition changes visually, further supporting the concept of the dynamic nature of human identity.
